Angela Nehmens if Of Counsel at the firm’s San Francisco office. Her practice focuses primarily on complex civil litigation. She is proud to represent survivors of sexual abuse, sexual assault, sexual harassment, and sex trafficking. She represents hundreds of sexual assault and sexual harassment survivors in a coordinated proceeding against Lyft, Inc. and was appointed as liaison counsel. She also represents survivors of childhood sexual abuse against individual offenders, which often include trusted adults in positions of power such as teachers, counselors, coaches, and clergy, as well as the institutions that harbor them.

 

Angela litigates cases against emerging and long-standing corporate giants such as JUUL Labs, Inc., Samsung, and LG. She briefed, argued, and successfully defeated personal jurisdiction challenges in the JUUL JCCP, and has argued dispositive legal issues in state and federal courts in California, Texas, Georgia, and the Eighth Circuit. In addition to her work at the trial level, Angela has briefed and argued appeals, and secured favorable opinions from Texas Courts of Appeal relating to personal jurisdiction over foreign companies.

 

Angela received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a minor in Middle Eastern and North African Studies from UCLA. She went on to receive her law degree from Suffolk University Law School, where she served as the continuity editor for the Journal of Health and Biomedical Law.

 

Angela does pro bono work with the Family Violence Appellate Project, a nonprofit dedicated to helping domestic violence survivors, and authored an Amicus Curiae Brief in support of a former sex worker seeking to regain custody of her child.
